Random Chaos

Random Chaos continues...

(aka. what this place is all about)

There was an all day power failure today, and after my UPS died out killing my DSL connection along with it, I had around 5hrs left to idle away with nothing better to do, so I decided to finally do something about this place!
(Ok it wasn't really that way, what really tipped me towards this was the fact that I could do it in bed on my laptop, while the other option was to sit outside my house and catch up on my reading!)

About 10 years ago, I moved away from home and all my friends to join college in Coimbatore and writing letters was the only "affordable" way for me to keep in touch with everyone. I wrote letters almost every evening.

But after college things changed drastically, I got busy with work and emails were a more affordable option for communication. But thanks to the speed of emails there was very little to write back about and as the messages started scrolling off my terminal screen they remained unreplied and soon forgotten.

I've reached a stage where I haven't sent out any personal mails in a long long time, and barely managing to reply mails that I recieve.

I hope to use this space as a Post Box of sorts where I'll leave messages for other people to collect. I'm still not sure how active this place will be or how much about myself I'm willing to write about on a public journal. But I do intend to try and update stuff here as often as I can. The rest of the site is mostly going to be about technology and other random stuff

As to why it took me over a year between me getting everything working here and making this post, it wasn't intentional, the past year has been a total roller coaster, with all the usual ups and downs and then some more! And there were a lot of things I wanted to write about but didn't and then there were some that I couldn't write about. All in all it's been a very eventful period, and it would have been more memorable if certain events hadn't occured! :-)

Over the past 15 months, I've managed to do a lot of things I hadn't done in the 12 months before that.

I got to spend quite some time out of Bangalore!

  • A week in Hyderabad for a schoolmate's wedding
  • Nearly a whole month with my parents for the first time since 2002

I actually finished reading a whole book!

  • But my unread book list continued to grow!
(I need to spend more time with books and less on the internet)

On the materialistic front a whole lot of goodies...

  • Finally got around to buying an iBook G4.
  • Got a digital camera in December.
(And have probably shot more photos in the past 10 months than in the previous 10 years)
  • A whole lot USB devices! (Will write about them sometime)
  • Lots of CDs/DVDs and Game titles.(Still haven't found time to play any of the games!)

I also got to meet some old friends after a long time, quite a few new ones and some really strange err.. different people! And some whom I've barely known for a few months and yet it feels like we've known each other for ages.

Over all it's been a year which I wouldn't mind repeating again, if certain other people would act/react differently!
